New Belgreen High School
$55.00
Opened in 2001, This school became the central piece of a community so small that it didn’t have a post office. The updated building gave space for students to learn and to grow. This piece is dedicated to my grandmother, Dianna. She taught fourth grade in this building from the year it opened until her retirement in 2013. The Woman walking a student into the front is my grandma (we call her nanny) and I. This happened many times over the course of her career and I cherish those memories so much. My sister and I also graduated from this school in 2017 and 2018. Belgreen High School is part of our family story. I wanted to justify that by drawing it the way I remember it most. With my grandma by my side.
